MICE statistics for the first half of 2026

MACAU, August 14 - Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that number of MICE events remained the same year-on-year, at 499, in the second quarter of 2026. Number of participants & attendees of MICE events increased by 37.6% year-on-year to 314,000, benefiting from an increase in exhibition attendees. Moreover, MICE-driven receipts of the non-gaming industries in the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR) surged by 54.8% year-on-year to MOP1.59 billion in the second quarter, driven by the growth in the number of non-local participants & attendees and the per-capita spending of MICE visitors.

There were 463 meetings & conferences held in the second quarter, down by 6 year-on-year; on the other hand, number of participants (54,000) rose by 29.3%. Number of exhibitions went up by 3 year-on-year to 18, and number of attendees grew markedly by 41.0% to 257,000. The exhibitions brought together 1,882 exhibitors and 17,357 professional visitors. International exhibitors and professional visitors accounted for 16.8% and 21.4% of the respective totals, up by 1.8 and 2.7 percentage points year-on-year. Number of incentives increased by 3 year-on-year to 18.

A total of 918 MICE events were held in the Macao SAR in the first half of 2026, which remained broadly the same year-on-year. Meanwhile, number of participants & attendees (494,000) recorded a 16.0% rise. MICE-driven receipts of the non-gaming industries in the Macao SAR stood at about MOP2.43 billion in the first half year, an uplift of 44.8% year-on-year.
